Developer Frontier has just released Planet, an immersive and complex management sim, in which players can design and run their very own zoo. Currently, the game is only available on Steam, so many have been wondering whether it’ll make its way to consoles anytime soon.

One thing that might point towards an Xbox One port for Planet is its developers history. It developed Jurassic World Evolution, Zoo Tycoon, and Elite Dangerous, all of which came to Xbox One.

Like I said in many other posts, I would prefer for them to first fix the PC version because to be honest compared to planet coaster it's just a mess. My impression of Frontier at the moment is they are looking for different ways to make more money, so I guess planet zoo will also come to consoles.

I personally doubt if people are waiting for a console version. Management games (like PC/WE/PA) are much easier and more pleasant to use with mouse/keyboard in a PC situation.

Well, since they figured how to make the advanced building work on console, I guess nothing is stopping them now. I personally doubt if people are waiting for a console version.

There are some games on PlayStation who start to bring this feature for example ARK. While PA isn't the game for cross play (only a shared animal market).

That being said, if a console version took priority over fixing PA's current issues and lack of optimization, I wouldn't be thrilled at all. I'm already sore that there's a team at Frontier who have put so much work into the console version of PC, whose expertise and manpower could have been dedicated to the latest flagship Planet game, which absolutely feels like it needs all hands on deck.

While PA isn't the game for cross play (only a shared animal market). Jurassic World was frontier's biggest launch game ever, and it released on consoles at the same time as PC. There is a high probability that PA will make it to consoles just on the strength that it'll make money.

There are other management Sims that are more taxing than PA that run fine on console. Also, from what I gathered from the PC forums, the console port lead to many AOL improvements to the PC version, so it should be a win-win for everyone.

As they're rebuilding the control scheme from the ground up (in addition to keyboard & mouse support) and also creating a parallel to the Steam Workshop for Planet Coaster and both games are on the same engine I think we can logically conclude Planet will also get a port at some point in the future. Not only that but the Steam Workshop parallel they're building would also make it easier to explore markets outside of Steam such as Epic Games Store and Stadia if they so choose to list the Planck games elsewhere. However, as a publicly traded company Frontier would neither confirm nor deny any such plans until such times as an official press release had been made.

But instead Frontier bring out an almost identical game and hope that everyone who bought Zoo Tycoon will be daft enough to buy another zoo game from them which will no doubt be rubbish as well. It just looks like an attempt at a cash grab, and they are fast wearing out their old reputation.

Now, for the first time in the series, the Plants are on the attack, and it is the Zombies' turn to defend their newly claimed homeland. Six all-new heroes join the battle with brand-new abilities, from the past, present, and future.

Gameplay largely remained the same as its predecessor, with the addition of 8 (6 immediately accessible and 2 which must be unlocked through a series of tough trials) new plant and zombie classes, a zombie version of Garden Ops, titled Graveyard Ops, and a new mode called Herbal Assault, a swapped version of Gardens and Graveyards where the Zombies must defend the bases and prevent the Plants from capturing them, which supports a maximum 24 players per game. The UI has been improved, with Crazy Dave and Dr. Zombies shown talking in 3D model of themselves (rather than appearing as 2D designs from the original Plants vs. Zombies). At the bases of both the Plants and the Zombies, there are several common features, including a Customization Room allowing the player to change and accessorize characters, a Quest Board with different objectives for Plants, Multiplayer, and Zombies, sticker Shops, a Multiplayer Portal, a Mailbox, and a special Garage, with quest missions for both sides.

The game also includes many exclusive rewards for players who have played the original Garden Warfare. Also, players who either pre-ordered or purchased the deluxe edition of Garden Warfare 2 will get lots of exclusive items, from emoji customizations to an exclusive Mass Effect-themed character, the Z7 Imp.

In the middle, the plant and zombie forces fight each other constantly, and is also where the 'Flag of Power' game mode is located. The player can access the Garden Ops and Graveyard Ops modes through Crazy Dave's RV or Dr. Zombies' blimp in each side's base, and can access every other mode through the Multiplayer Portal, where they can choose to play any mode solo, private with friends or go online in multiplayer.

The player can pick up daily quests from the Quest Board to complete, can buy sticker packs from the Sticker Shop, customize their characters in the Customization Booth, promote leveled up characters in the Stats Room, complete quests around the Backyard and can also take part in solo story quests for either Crazy Dave or Dr. Zombies from any NPC characters. There is also a sewer system where the player can find hidden areas and the new Crazy Targets shooting range.
