Following feedback from Planet beta players who were unhappy that its fancy Franchise Mode was only playable while online, Frontier Developments have announced they’ll add a similar mode supporting offline play. But it ties in online system like trading animals with other players (to ensure genetic diversity in breeding programs, obis) and it’s just not playable offline.

“Franchise Mode has always been designed with online play in mind due to its challenging multiplayer features. “This new mode will still include a full economy with both dollars and Conservation Credits, guest needs, Research, Education, animals and more all with the ability to create your zoo, with your vision from the ground up.

As for the beta this feedback is coming from, that’s available to people who pre-order and pay an extra £8 for the Deluxe Edition. Planet will let us manage the commercial menageries of our respective dreams in just over a month, and eager players who’ve pre-ordered the deluxe edition have already been toying with a beta release.

Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts I was wondering there were offline modes, I mostly see people playing online.

Beyond construction, there's also enough Management Stuff to pull you in a bunch of directions while you're trying your best to meet the needs of your animals, staff, guests, bank loans, and conservation efforts. The game is generally what I was hoping for, and even with visual, performance, and AI behavior bugs in the beta, I'm having a blast so far.

As such, some players are understandably disappointed they can 't play Franchise offline. That's going to remain the case in the final version of Planet, but Frontier is now planning to meet players halfway by offering a fourth game mode at launch.

“This all-new, currently unnamed, mode will allow you to enjoy much of the Franchise experience, without the online requirements,” Frontier Developments said in a Steam post. “This new mode will still include a full economy with both dollars and Conservation Credits, guest needs, Research, Education, animals and more all with the ability to create your zoo, with your vision from the ground up.

Please see a summary of our frequently asked Steam-related questions about Planet. Sharing what you build is a huge part of Planet and the Steam Workshop is built into the game to help you do just that.

The Zoos you build and your career progress all support Steam's Cloud Saves feature, so you can play on multiple computers without needing to start again. If you share your computer with other members of your family, they will be able to play on their Steam Account with their own career and saved games.

The first time you load Planet it will require an internet connection, but you can then enable Steam's offline mode if you need to play without an internet connection in the future. You can find the list of supported languages on our Steam product page.

CAN I RECORD VIDEO, STREAM, OR SHARE SCREENSHOTS OF THE GAME PUBLICLY? We hope you don't encounter any bugs when playing Planet, but if you do, please report them on our Issue Tracker, where our QA team are on hand to investigate.

Chrome developer Sebastien Gabriel says that their no internet game is the nod to the prehistoric ages, millions of years before the technological boom. The T. rex game was first introduced in September 2014, but it did not work on earlier Android OS versions so that Google developers fully completed their brainchild only by December that year.

Whether taking a vacation or only going on a business trip, it’s important to know some phrases in the local language of the country you visit. By doing this, you will enrich your experience and the locals will appreciate your efforts in trying to make yourself understood.

A little dictionary or a book with the most common phrases may be in handy to ask where the bathroom is, read a menu or ask for directions on the street but unfortunately, they can be bulky and can take much time to search through. So, stuff your phone with online and offline applications that can help you break down the language barrier that separates people from other countries.

In addition, the app also provides the ability to translate bilingual conversations on the fly in around 43 languages. It offers support for over 60 languages for translation between text, conversations, voice, and photos.

The app even allows for offline mode translation, which can turn out to be helpful in situations where there is no network. Furthermore, Microsoft Translator comes with a phrasebook that stores verified translations and pronunciation guides to help you learn different words and phrases in places you visit.

As, besides the usual translation, which the app allows for with support for over 100 countries, 2,000 phrases in 13 languages, and instant voice translator in 42 languages, it offers a bunch of other features that make it an ideal travel companion. In addition, it also provides a few essential tools like a tip calculator, currency converter, Wi-Fi dialer, etc to make your life easier in a foreign country.

One of the interesting features of the lot is the ability to switch between different dialects to help you converse effectively. Not to mention, the built-in dictionary and history, which helps you get back to words or sentences that you recently translated or used.

The app supports over 13 languages and offers a limited, but useful set of features that help you to translate and understand the content in your native language, and in-turn, converse better in a foreign country. Additionally, there is a built-in dictionary in the app that, besides offering a history of all your previous translations, also allows you to look up meanings for different words.

However, despite that, it is still a great solution for your translation queries, thanks to its rich feature set. In a nutshell, Says offers a bunch of features such as easy copy and are functionality to share conversations via SMS, or social channels like Facebook or Twitter, support for various languages, along with different dialects, the ability to change voice preference, speech rate, and speed, and more.

This might sound like a stupid question in this article, but many people are of the opinion that you need to have internet access to have offline translator service. While most offline translator apps require you to download the language file once, they work almost flawlessly without the internet as well.

The Planet Spark team Aneesh Hooper’s time at home services marketplace Urbanely gave him an idea for his own startup. Not long after, Aneesh, 34, decided to help fill up this gap with his own offering, Planet Spark, which essentially transforms traditional KG to Class 8 tuition, by combining physical teaching with mobile technology.

“I realized that parents were looking for a blend, and not only offline or only online classes,” says Aneesh, who holds an MBA from LRI, Jamshedpur. The founders of Planet Spark, Danish Hooper and Final Alike past few years have witnessed a spurt in edtech startups in India.

He also roped in his LRI hostel wingman Final Malik, who was working at Unilever at the time but had always wanted to become an entrepreneur. Classes are taken offline and teachers are provided with the materials and methods, as well as a mobile app to blend different aspects of the learning.

“We also create study plans for children at those centers; these include app time, game time, books, practice etc.” The company has a SaaS product for teachers, the Planet Spark Teacher App, which keeps track of hourly performance and progress of students. The first is an educated homemaker in the age group of 27 to 45 with at least two years of experience, excellent communication skills and personality, and the desire to start a home-based learning center with Planet Spark.

The second profile includes teachers who are already running mid-sized tuition centers and want to upgrade them to Planet Spark’s content, technology, and brand. The after-school market is currently dominated by local tutors, or standalone learning apps such as BYJU’s, Roommate, Topper, Simplified, Merit nation, and others.

Local tutors often lack quality, innovative content, tech tools, and reliability, while learning apps do not provide a classroom-style teacher, Aneesh says. It will use the funds to expand into six more cities, offer its product in all subjects from K-8, and strengthen its AI for teacher management and student learning.

The startup also plans to venture into vernacular with digital-only offerings, and is targeting 20 million customers through its purely digital approach. “We plan to strengthen the product with all subjects up to Class 8 and offer over 5,000 learning games covering every concept,” Aneesh says.
