Reviewed 4 January 2021 via mobile We stayed in the area over new year and visited Watergate beach a number of times to walk our black lab. First it was easy to...book a table on ‘OpenTable’ (the evening before) and then on arrival were directed upstairs to the (dog friendly) restaurant.
Reviewed 3 days ago via mobile Great vibe, tasty food and friendly service. We felt safe as the place is well-organised and the rules are clear, hand hygiene, mask, one way, enjoy.
Reviewed 1 week ago For the price of a burger (around £14), you'd expect something bloody good. The portion of chips...are tiny and the baskets they are served in mean they are cold on the plate.
Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile Whilst me and my buddy were attempting to surf our girlfriends went to grab us food. Hey there, Thank you for leaving a great review, and we are thrilled you enjoyed the food.
Hopefully see you again soon, and you can give surfing another go :) Kind regards The WAX Team Reviewed 1 week ago Wax is a great place for a bite to eat whether that be lunch or dinner, they also serve coffee and alcoholic drinks, so it’s a great spot for both times of day depending on what you want.
The staff were so friendly and managed to fit us in for food late at night. I had some starters for main course, like a tapas style (prawns, honey and sesame halloumi bites, vegetable spring rolls, nachos) and my friends had the burger which looked amazing.
Hi Lizzie Thanks for leaving such a lovely review, we can’t wait to see you again soon for more gin and lemonade Kind regards The WAX Team Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile We booked a table for 12.45pm and ordered at the bar, but it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive and no-one updated us at all.
I was hoping the food would be worth the wait, but both the cheeseburgers and chicken...burger were really dry, which you don’t expect for £13! People were rarely following the one-way system and a staff member, who appeared to be in charge, rushed around with a mask hanging off of one ear the whole time we were there. Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile An hour’s walk along the coast path from our house, WAX Watergate is a favorite for our coffee stop.
Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile Cornwall completely packed during our stay. Main bonus to the experience was...our server, a lovely young man called Blade.
His attention to customer service was impeccable & he appears to love his job despite it being very busy & all the multitasking he was doing! More Hi Jan, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, your feedback has been passed to blade, and he thanks you for your kind words.
Reviewed 1 week ago We booked Wax when we could not get a table at the Beach Hut and are so happy we did. The menu may not be extensive (possibly COVID-19 related) but the burgers we had were some of...the best we have eaten and the desserts were fantastic.
Reviewed 18 October 2021 via mobile Chilled out beach bar vibes!! Visited Wax numerous times whilst holidaying in Cornwall for the week.
They are always happy to try and accommodate people if they can, even during these turbulent times when finding somewhere to eat in Kern ow at short notice can feel like the search for... More We appreciate the sincerity and honesty of your review, and we are working hard towards improving on these areas.
Reviewed 14 October 2021 Managed to get a table straight away. Food wasn’t the best, pizza was thin, soggy and smothered in cheap stringy cheese.
I ordered a seafood linguine and the pasta was extremely overcooked, the sauce had no seasoning... More Thank you for your feedback, we will take this on board and work to improve.
Reviewed 11 October 2021 Even off season, everywhere else in Watergate was fully booked other than Wax, and we realized why. Scant attention to COVID-19 rules, no checking whether we’d scanned the QR code for example.
Hi Lisa, I apologize that you didn’t enjoy your visit to wax and were unimpressed with our fish and chips, this truly surprises me as we receive nothing but good feedback for this dish. Reviewed 3 October 2021 Visited Wax after we had walking along the Coastal Path.
Reviewed 28 September 2021 Was on last Wednesday night whilst down on holiday. Day before restrictions tightened, but they already had it nailed, masks, one way system and take a picture of menu so don't have to touch any.
