Gareth May tucks into the global food trend that’s found its way to Cornish shores. Read the article Emily Scott Food first appeared in the Bay as a pop-up restaurant in July 2020.
Very bad front desk and attitude of the person greeting. Incredibly delicious food and amazing service, gorgeous wine and overall fantastic experience.
Beautiful seafood and delicious Pensacola. We had such a lovely lunch, the food was locally sourced fresh and dishes bought out the flavors so well, glad we got the chance to taste Emily cooking as we had heard so many favorable reports. Really pleased we managed to get booked in before the pop up restaurant closes and Emily heads back to her normal kitchen.
Amazing venue, delicious food and discreet but very attentive waiters. We had one of the bet tables in the place and the staff were super attentive without being overly.
Would love to go again, but it will be fine by the end of the month willdefinitely head to The Inn when we are next down Excellent meal with fantastic views in the early evening, would highly recommend.
Wine over-priced.....very small helping first course....only 2 small scallops....main course good.....service very mediocre and amateur....not well-trained or even friendly. Poor ambiance.....even allowing for social-distancing, place lacked any atmosphere whatsoever.
Frankly the most delicious meal we have eaten in a long time . Delicious, fresh, modern, local. We were more than happy with the food Sorry that this pop up restaurant will close at the end of the month.
Excellent location, service and food. Limited menu choice, but then the offering is based on freshness and seasonal availability.
What we have been perfectly cooked and was extremely tasty. Each dish was well presented and constructed and was extremely tasty.
We would definitely eat at an Emily Scott restaurant again in the future (given that the one at Watergate was a pop-up and so had a limited opening period). Fabulous food and a great space.
The welcome was warm and friendly, the service was outstanding yet very chilled and laid back so that you felt part of what was going on, almost part of the team. So sorry to learn that the restaurant will not be at a Watergate next season.
It was cooked in so much policing stock it is too rich, for proper vegetarians like me! A special occasion dinner which ticked all the boxes.
Delicious food cooked very well and a wonderful view of the sunset too. Beautiful location, excellent service and amazing dishes.
Fantastic meal here overlooking Watergate bay. I’ve eaten in lots of Michelin restaurants and I believe the cooking here was delicious and to a very high standard with excellent service great CCOVID-19measures in place too and felt very safe.
We were recommended this popup restaurant by the receptionist at our hotel. The menu was simple and energetic in its form.
The stand out dish, you need to get your head around, was the cold Melon curry. It won first place but the rest of us also had great food.
Congrats to the team for giving the diner an unforgettable experience. We booked this as a treat for our last day in Cornwall, and it did not fail to impress.
Such a shame that this pop up will be closing down at the end of this month. Waiters/ waitresses were great, very attentive, helpful & engaging.
Food was mediocre at best and overpriced for the quality. What a birthday treat for me :). We had a table of 3 and sat looking as the sun was setting and surfers surfed the waves.
From the beginning to the end we were treated like VIP's with the waiter showing us to our table and another smiley waiter explaining about the wines to the specials dishes. Emily was in the kitchen cooking, and we would recommend the specials, although the menu changes according to what local produce Emily sources. The fish was cooked so spectacular and fresh. Special night, and we look forward to coming to St Study's Inn.
So nice to see this fabulous site being run so well. Also, really appreciated that this was family friendly during the day.
Staff were lovely and food was amazing. Excellent location, delicious seasonal food, breathtaking views of the surrounding beach and sea. Would recommend visiting if in the area, car park close by if driving, alternatively, bus stop close to car park.
The roasted brill was sublime and surely no one makes a better pan gotta. Even the butter for your bread has been specially prepared.
The view to the beach is great and the sunset just added some extra magic to the evening. The service was wonderful, felt friendly and casual whilst being on point all the time.
I think with the way things are right now they have handled the situation perfectly, and it feels relaxed. The food was delicious, it is not cheap but the quality of ingredients and the level of skilled cooking made it feel like good value.
I'm not sure what they did to the tomato salad, but it was beautiful and all the sauces were so tasty especially with the brill, you need to get an extra portion of bread just to mop it up. Desert was great, the panorama was delicious, but my cheese course was better, I think having a cheese dish instead of a cheese board shows a real attention to detail that I'm fully on board with.
