Local landmarks like the towering 23-foot-high Mount Rainier and two Tacoma Narrows bridges, a giant crab with moving pincers and an 8-foot-long sea turtle will be among the familiar favorites, along with whimsical animal scenes like sledding penguins, ice skating puffins, a walrus family and a trio of polar bears.
Guests will also have the opportunity to see who’s awake in the Asian Forest Sanctuary dayroom and at Kids’ Zone- a tiger? “Zoo lights is the perfect way to end this year on a high note,” said Director Alan Varsity.

Both aquariums, the goat area and the carousel will be closed during Zoo lights. The aquariums will be open during the day for guests who visit the Zoo.
Tickets for up to 5 household members must be reserved online in advance. Cleveland Metro parks staff can adapt many programs to be accessible to anyone who would like to participate assuming they meet the essential eligibility criteria.
Nature Illuminated is a one-of-a-kind drive-thru experience featuring stunning light work and large-scale animal art installations! This event invites you on a magical journey into a world of lights and wonder, all from the comfort of your own vehicle.
All tickets must be purchased in advance and online, including for Zoo Members. Nature Illuminated is a new and unique event experience to support the Minnesota Zoo.
The Nature Illuminated drive is ¾ mile long with a 30-minute audio tour. There are two ADA-accessible portable restrooms located along the entrance route prior to ticket scanning.
After your event experience, there is an additional ADA-accessible portable restroom along the exit route. When interacting with Zoo staff a face covering is required, such as during scanning of your ticket at entry or during a Unique Experience if you have purchased one.
Face coverings and appropriate physical distancing are also required when using restroom facilities. You must stay inside your vehicle unless using the restroom or during a Unique Experience, if you purchased one.
In the unlikely event that the show must be cancelled due to extreme circumstances, you will be notified by email and your ticket transferred to a different date and time. If you are unable to find a friend or family member to attend with, we welcome Metro Mobility vehicles.
Our Zoo animals will be enjoying a full night’s slumber. By purchasing a ticket to the Houston Zoo, you agree to properly wear a facial covering during your visit.
In accordance with Harris County orders, and for the safety of our staff, guests, and animals, visitors 10 years and older are required to wear facial coverings that fully cover the nose and mouth. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.
Zoo Lights will also be open to the public on Thanksgiving Day. Military, First Responders, and Educators are all eligible for a $3 discount off admission on select Mondays-Thursdays during Zoo Lights.
Along the Zoo Lights path, you’ll encounter plenty of yummy holiday treats including s’mores, hot chocolate, and more! Multiple food locations will be available, including Cypress Circle Café during Zoo Lights hours.

While you must enter during your selected window, you are not limited to an amount of time in the Zoo, your experience can take as long as you would like. Train tickets on membership accounts are not valid at special events.

But remember: most habitats at the zoo include behind-the-scenes areas, and the animals can choose where to spend their time. Every member of your party must be accounted for, including infants and children.
Only the guests included in the ticket order will be allowed to enter the zoo. Limited tickets will be available at Landmark Café, the zoo’s Gift Shop, and the Hot Chocolate stand at Park Place Café near the Light Maze.
The zoo and all holiday experiences will remain open rain or shine. The name on the reservation must match the guest to ensure accuracy in case of the need for contact tracing.
You may enter anytime during the half-hour window on your ticket (for example, if you booked at 4 p.m., you may arrive between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.). All zoo guests over the age of 2 should wear a face covering unless medically unable, especially near popular animal habitats, food and retail kiosks, and restrooms.
This helps protect other guests, zoo staff, volunteers, and the animals in our care Lincoln Park Zoo is also accessible by public transportation.
Due to traffic, public transportation is highly recommended. While we will have several ATMs on site, we encourage you to minimize hand-to-hand transactions by using credit cards.
