Here’s a list of some American- made grills that BBQ Depot has extensive experience with by either selling or servicing through the years: At BBQ Depot, we feel there are several reasons to buy grills made in America.
Manufacturing standards on gas products made in the USA are subject to stringent regulations and laws that are regularly enforced. We have seen countless numbers of imported gas products that are manufactured to standards that are so low they are considered unlawful in the USA.
Buying an American- made gas grill from the BBQ Depot can give you peace of mind that your grill has been made and inspected to be up to par with the latest laws and guidelines. Buying grills made in America gives you easier access to service, warranty, and replacement parts.
Just head to our website or give us a call, and we’ll help you find it. When a product is designed and manufactured in the United States, the entire construction pipeline can be monitored closely.
Companies building grills in the United States are subject to stringent regulations. Many of the parts are only available on the aftermarket (burners, heat shields, cooking grates).
Remember when you import products, you are subject to minimum quantity orders. When you have dozens of models using the same burners and heat shields, meeting that MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) is easier than other replacement parts that are specific to model sizes.
Case in point: We had a customer with a Bull Built-in Grill, and they needed a new manifold. Due to changes in design, this part was no longer available and the grill became worthless.
They are the pipe that holds the valves and are an important part that is necessary to safely operate a grill. When a part such as a manifold is not available, it renders your gas grill inoperable.
Modification of the outdoor kitchen and countertop becomes necessary, creating a huge expense. This situation rarely occurs in a US-manufactured grill, as we sell at the BBQ Depot.
A “big box store” will put their name on a grill, and then offer little to no support. It can be extremely difficult to get the service or part you need once you walk out of the store.
That means you’ll be paying a premium on a product that is already inferior to a grill made in the USA. There are significantly more grills recalls on imported products than those made in the USA.
BBQ Depot does sell some imported brands including Summer set and Blaze. With that being said, there are definitely quality issues as well as manufacturing choices that can end up turning into a headache for the consumer.
Since a large part of our business involves service and selling replacement parts, we are frequently put in the difficult position of explaining to customers why there is no product support for their grills. Because of this, we have had to make the difficult choice of not displaying imported grills in our showroom.
Due to the many inconsistencies, we had no alternative but to display products we can stand behind, like our American- made grills. Oftentimes consumers find themselves buying the same imported grills over and over again.
Instead, we offer the solution of buying one American- made grill from BBQ Depot that you’ll be able to use for years to come. We look forward to serving you and your family and helping you find a grill to join your backyard festivities for many years.
The cooking temp range is actually slightly higher, reaching temperatures of 500 °F while the Trailer maxes out at 450 °F. The new Trailer Pro would also be another alternative, although that's packed with a few more features like Wi-Fi and costs quite a bit more.
Not only are they made in China, they lost a class action lawsuit because of mislabeling of their product. Built of heavy steel and looking much more like a smoker than a grill, this is a serious product, but one that can be had for under $1,500 USD, which makes it one of the better pellet grills in its price range.

Made -in-the- USA grills aren’t often stocked at large retailers like Amazon or Home Depot, probably since they tend to be more expensive than imported products. That said, grills made in the USA tend to be made of higher-quality materials and are built to last for multiple generations, so the investment may be worth it.

You can use the Table of Content below to jump to the pellet grill brands which are made in the USA today. However, first I wanted to discuss brands which used to be made in the USA but have now had to move manufacturing abroad.
They are an American owned company that’s more than 40 years old with a factory based in Michigan focused on metal processing. And for the first couple of years when Grille Grills came onto the market they were 100% made in the USA, at the Michigan based factory.
You can read more about it here, but I’ve also included a video below from Mark Graham who is the sales and manufacturing manager over at Grille Grills. Their desire to produce their own wood pellet grills started from hosting family gatherings and competing in BBQ competitions.
By 2011 the Smoking’ Brothers had developed their own range of wood pellet grills. Smoking’ Brothers produce a range of wood pellets grills all made in the USA.
As you can see from the video above the Smoking’ Brothers have got some interesting pellet grill designs that I’ll do a more in-depth review of in the future. The owner and founder of Blaze’n Grill Works started in metal fabrication in the 1970s.
The company takes a lot of pride in the fact their pellet grills are 100% made in the USA. For instance, as you can see from the video above they recently released a direct sear option for their pellet grills.
Essentially it's a new design of grease tray with a removable section over the pellet fire pot. I must say, it's the thickness grease tray I think I’ve seen on any pellet grill made out of 12 gauge steel.
Notably, Blaze’n Grill Works is providing their direct heat sear kit with a set of GrillGrates. After the 2008 financial crisis, the family decided to turn their love of backyard BBQ into a new product, their own line of premium/high-quality wood pellet grills.
From someone who spends a lot of time reviewing the features and construction of pellet grills let me tell you, 10 gauge steel stands out. Oder Smokers ‘Forged From Iron’ promotional video for their made in the USA pellet grills /smokers.
They wish to emphasize that their pellet based products are not only convenient smokers with convection oven performance, but they can actually grill and sear. They were also one of the first to install PID temperature control panels into their pellet grills and they now also offer Wi-Fi integration.
Oder, like MANDRILLS referenced above, are also now using more durable and faster ceramic igniters in the base of the pellet fire pot. I’ll be writing a roundup article soon on the full range of pellet grills offered by Oder Smokers.
Cook shack is based in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and they have been producing electric smokers since the 1960s. Then in collaboration with BBQ expert and Pit Master Fast Eddy they developed their range of residential and commercial pellet grills /smokers.
Their smallest unit is the PG500 seen at the top of this post, their other residential pellet grill is the PG1000 which is a more conventional design and features an insulated construction. Another brand of full stainless steel pellet grills and smokers is Memphis, their design and manufacturing facility is based in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Both Pro and Elite models are available as either freestanding or built-in units for outdoor kitchen setups. As Memphis explain in their own sales literature if you live in a coastal climate you really want to opt for 304-grade stainless steel.
The whole range of Memphis pellet grills also offers direct flame broiling capabilities. Update: It would appear that Memphis is no longer manufacturing their pellet grills in the US (cheers Vincent).
As you would expect these Twin Eagles pellet grills only use the highest quality 304-grade stainless steel for their outer bodywork. They feature effectively a tablet computer as their control panel giving full-colour images for the various recipes and cooking settings for various meats etc.
With Wi-Fi integration, the app and control screen on the Twin Eagles have the same design. The Twin Eagles pellet grills also offer a discretely integrated rotisserie kit.
As standard, the Twin Eagles pellet grills can provide the best in class 725 degrees of indirect heat. However, with the ceramic briquette and charcoal insert, 1000 and 1500-degree surface temperature cooking is possible.
As you are most likely aware, to manufacturer a pellet grill in the USA costs more, quite a bit more in most cases. I do also want to point out that companies such as Trailer and Grille Grills as they moved manufacturing abroad they were able to grow their companies and bring on more American staff to design the grills and work in their marketing and service centers.
