Continue to check back for live updates in real time! Salons and barbershops in the Greater Sacramento Region can open today after meeting the ICU capacity criteria for exiting the Regional Stay At Home Order.

This includes the following counties: Alpine, Amado, Butte, Column, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumes, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, YOLO, Cuba. These counties will move back into the color-coded, tiered system “Blueprint for a Safer Economy” which allows salons and barbershops to operate indoors, with restrictions, in all tiers.

Beginning Dec. 26, close contact personal services, including hair salons and barbershops, must limit capacity to 25 percent. Workers and staff are excluded from the capacity limit, which will remain in place until Jan. 24, 2021.

Hair salons, barbershops and other businesses will be allowed to open in designated “Orange Zones” throughout New York State beginning Monday, Dec. 14. The Governor announced the decision at a press conference on Friday, stating that these businesses are not causing COVID-19 numbers to rise.

The state is currently under an “Amended Safer At Home” with no changes in safety protocols. This allows personal care services to increase capacity to 66 percent.

Enhanced safety guidelines such as facial coverings are still required. Salons, barbershops and other non-essential businesses must remain closed in the regions of Southern California and San Joaquin.

The extension is a result of zero percent ICU capacity in both regions. Currently, three out of five regions: Southern California, San Joaquin Valley and the Bay Area region are under the Stay At Home Order, affecting roughly 91 percent of the state’s population.

Salons and barbershops may have to close again in some parts of California due to rising COVID-19 cases. Regions that have less than 15 percent of open ICU bed capacity will have to close non-essential businesses including salons, barbershops and other personal care services within 48 hours.

Hair salons and other personal services are OPEN in levels: “Green,” “Blue,” “Yellow,” “Orange,” and “Red.” Personal services are mandated to close when counties are in the “Purple Level.” Currently, there are no counties at this level on the COVID-Dial. The state is currently in “Phase 2.1” of reopening, which eases restrictions for businesses.

Personal care services are permitted to follow “Phase 3” guidance, which allows salons to operate at 75 percent capacity. Hair salons, barbershops and nail salons have been opened, with restrictions, since June 1.

The state is currently in “Phase 2.1” of reopening, which allows personal service businesses to operate at 60 percent capacity. Delaware has delayed moving forward to “Phase 3” of it’s reopening plan until further notice.

Hair salons and barbershops are open throughout the state, with enhanced safety restrictions. Close contact services, such as hair salons and barbershops have been open, with limitations, throughout the state since May 16.

On Dec. 8, the state implemented new tiered mitigation restrictions in response to rising cases. The state is currently in “Phase 4” of the reopening timeline, but regions should check for specific enhanced restrictions.

All businesses, including hair salons and barbershops can remain open, but must follow the specific guidelines for their county status. Currently, salons and barbershops are allowed to work at 50 percent capacity and require clients to have an appointment, in addition to other safety guidelines.

On Nov. 25, Governor Edwards announced the state would be stepping back to “Phase 2” of the reopening plan in response to rising COVID-19 cases. Salons and barbershops are permitted to operate at 50 percent capacity during this phase To read more about the state’s reopening status click here.

The state is currently in “Stage 4” of the Restarting Maine’s Economy” plan, which further eases restrictions on businesses. On Nov. 20, Governor Hogan announced new restrictions to help stop rising cases of COVID-19 throughout the state.

To help curb rising cases throughout the state, businesses, including salons and barbershops, must close by 9:30 pm until further notice. Beginning Dec. 26, close contact personal services, including hair salons and barbershops, must limit capacity to 25 percent.

Workers and staff are excluded from the capacity limit, which will remain in place until Jan. 24, 2021. On Nov. 18, the state entered a “Pause To Save Lives” status on reopening, but salons and barbershops may remain open with appointments only.

As of Nov. 20, the state has implemented a “Dial Back, Minnesota” stage of reopening until December 18. Salons and barbershops may continue to operate at 50 percent capacity but still requires an appointment. To read more about the state’s paused reopening, click here.

The state is currently under a “Safe Recovery Order” allowing businesses to operate at 75 percent capacity while still maintaining social distancing guidelines. The state is currently in “Phase 2” of their reopening plan, allowing businesses to operate at 50 to 75 percent capacity as long as social distancing is maintained.

Although the state did not have an official stay-at-home-order, hair salons and barbershops have been open, with restrictions, in all counties since June 1. The state is currently in “Stage 2” of their reopening timeline, with no specific date for advancing to “Stage 3.” Personal care services, including salons and barbershops, may operate at 25 percent capacity and by appointment only.

Salons and barbershops may reopen at 25 percent capacity, after being required to shut down for two weeks in late November. Under the most restrictive “Red Tier” salons and barbershops will be allowed to reopen, at a maximum of 25 percent capacity or 10 customers at one time.

The state is currently using a color-coded “ND Smart Restart” program for reopening businesses and monitoring COVID-19 cases.

Every county in the state is currently listed in the yellow “Moderate Risk” level. The state is still using the “Responsible Restart Ohio” plan for reopening businesses.

The state is currently in “Phase 3” of the Open Up & Recover Safely” Plan which allows salons to take walk-in appointments. Hair salons and barbershops are permitted to open in all phases but must adhere to enhanced guidelines.

Currently, salons and barbershop are allowed to operate under “Phase III: Picking Up Speed” guidance. The state is continuing to lift restrictions on businesses under the “Accelerate SC Plan.” To read more about this plan, click here.

However, the Governor advises businesses to “resume operations in a manner that allows for reasonable physical distancing, good hygiene and proper sanitation.” For more information, click here. The state continues to reopen businesses under the “Strike Force to Open Texas” Plan.
